there are several versions of this title, the cover of this copy has mother seated on a bench with a small child walking to her printed in black and a dull red; [16] pp. including alphabet with two illustrations for each letter (they use axe and xx ale for X), 24 lessons (the one where a young psychopath viciously kicks and beats his dog to death but then is sad is a bit disturbing), and a poem on back cover; these were designed to take very hard wear but horizontal fold, corner curling, soiling and staining with some of it rust colored, entirely readable but working copy.
