oblong folio, [2] (title & contents pages) pp., 40 plates (ie: 37 listed plus the three additional plates), all tissue guards present; contemporary full tree leather, binding worn, occasional light smudges to the margins, however the tissue guards have succesfully protected the plates and they remain clean and bright in general; lower right hand margin of one plate chipped; Published to accompany and complete the "Sagrada Biblia" published in 25 volumes in 1831-1833, considered to be the first Bible published in Mexico. It was based on an edition of the French "Bible de Vence" published in Paris in 1820. Most plates are engraved by "S. Stiles y Co. Nueva York". Most maps are drawn by A.R. Fremin.
